Bio

Not every band can proudly claim to have met while making it to third base.  But that is precisely where The Damselles & The TC4 made their first musical debut: on third base, during a kickball game in the Glassell Park district of Los Angeles.  The count may have been down for their team on that fated Sunday afternoon, but The Damselles, (Maria DeLuca, Jillinda Palmer, and Brittney Westover), knew they were the type of girls who could spontaneously sing a chorus of “Chains” in three part harmony and still find a way to slide home – in time, and in tune.

And so, The Damselles’ game was officially on.

The Damselles took to the streets and clubs of Los Angeles, performing – at times impromptu - with artists ranging from Jonathan Richman, to Will Ferrell, Ryan Gosling & Dead Man’s Bones, Andy Paley, Dan Bern, Common Rotation, The Upright Citizen’s Brigade, and many local Los Angeles bands such as Fitz & the Tantrums, The Henry Clay People, Walking Sleep, Correatown, & Sara Radle. The Damselles have toured nationally with Tom Kenny and the Spongebob Squarepants Hi-Seas. They have made exclusive performance appearances at LAPD events, The California Endowment, Comedy Central show tapings, Podcasts such as Nerdist, The Adam Corolla Show, and The Thrilling Adventure & Supernatural Suspence Hour, and they’ve even performed at Comic Con.

When performing live, on stage and on record they are backed by the tremendous talent of the TC4 (Sean Johnson: drums, Adam Kurtz: guitar, Mustang Lang: keys, and Jake Maltinsky: bass) this seven piece band is an unstoppable force.  The Damselles & The TC4 exude a style that fuses 1960’s girl-groups (The Ronettes, The Cookies, The Shangri-Las), with the energy of R&B performers (Tina Turner, Leslie Gore, Dusty Springfield), adding hints of Soul & Motown (Martha & The Vandellas, The Supremes), all the while creating a sound that is current and unique. Their sound harkens back to a time when the simplicity of song-writing captured the hearts of listeners worldwide, while their style and musical craftsmanship speaks to the new era of fans who've “heard it all before.”

Their new and original, upcoming, self-titled EP (out March, 2011 on OTIK RECORDS) will not only make you shake your groove thing, twist & shout, and do the soulful strut  - but simply, The Damselles & The TC4 will slide you into home.
